Monochrome colors of black, white, sanguine and sepia are used in drawing classes in almost every art school. They give life and vitality to the drawings. This is an old method that dates back to the Renaissance, we highlight with white, and with black we create highlights. Faber-Castell's monochrome Pitt series reflect this long-standing tradition of figure drawing, which is why the crayons designed for sketching are harder than regular conventional crayons. For this reason, the lines applied with these products do not completely disappear after cleaning them. Traditionally red and sepia pastels are complemented by oil-free and oil-based pencils for sketching and creating detail.
