OR ÉGYPTIEN – the scent of Ancient Egypt The concept of OR ÉGYPTIEN begins with a family visit to the ancient pyramids. The most highly regarded perfumes of the ancient world originated in Egypt – an inspiration that is at the very heart of this fragrance. Fresh top notes of blackcurrant, grapefruit and green leaves gradually give way to a rich and sensual heart of plum, rosebuds, geranium and jasmine. The base unfolds with warm and deep notes of ancient sandalwood, musk and caramel, which give the fragrance its character and completeness. The symbol of gold – the dot in the center of the circle, called the circumpunct, is a key element in the design. It is also an ancient Egyptian hieroglyph denoting the sun. In Ancient Egypt, colors had symbolic meaning and were used to convey messages. The blue color of lapis lazuli – a semi-precious stone – was associated with joy, and gold – with the deity of the Sun.
