i-Size, or R129, is a car seat legislation that uses new crash tests, including a new side impact test method. Instead of using a child's weight to determine the appropriate seat, i-Size seats are based on the child's height to determine the correct seat size.

i-Size car seats are considered the safest on the market and have improved protection for the child's head and neck. Here are the reasons why:

The side impact crash test is included and evaluated as part of the seat's testing to the i-Size standard;
i-Size safety tests use Q-test dummies with improved technology, which have more sensors than the dummies used in R44 testing;
It is recommended that your baby travel rearward facing until at least 15 months of age. Some i-Size car seats can be used rearward facing until the child is 105 cm tall, which is around 4 years of age. Studies have shown that this is the safer position. Studies have shown that rearward facing seats offer up to 75% better protection for babies and young children in a road accident.
